Hello TSJ! First off, Happy Mother’s Day. If you are a child, you’d better have spoiled your mother with food, flowers, and fun today. If you are a mother, thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for dealing with pesky, dramatic teenagers like myself. I truly admire you.
I’d like to explain my week-long absence from TSJ for a second.
I’m one of those people who always likes being busy. I hate feeling stationary and God knows I can’t sit still for more than a couple minutes at a time. In turn, I tend to pack my schedule with as many extracurriculars, school activities, and social events as possible without thinking of the personal health and time management repercussions. I also can’t say “no” very well. One of my greatest and weakest qualities is that I’m naturally very giving and I’d put anybody else’s interests and needs far above my own. This means that if I had even the slightest bit of free time and someone asked me for a favor, I’d help them in a heartbeat.
Which is exactly what happened last week. With AP exams right around the corner, an SAT, spring show weekend, and also attempting an adequate (and I mean a very loosely defined version of “adequate”) amount of sleep, I just couldn’t find any sliver of time to write and post for you guys. And trust me, that is a sucky feeling. Writing is my way of letting loose and relaxing and to not be able to do that for a whole week, I built up quite a good amount of stress and tension. But I am well-rested now and back to my normal, less panicky, more sane self and excited for all the fun posts I have in store for y’all.
I hope you can forgive me for my absence and I promise to always do everything I can to deliver. So with that, welcome back! It’s going to be a great week, I can feel it.
(By the way… HOW PERFECT ARE THESE EARRINGS?! They make me feel so dramatic, I love it. There’s been a lot of hair flipping going on since I got these… whoops.)
