Congratulations, people of the Internet. We’ve made it to another year!!! And you know what that means: new year, new list of ambitious resolutions that end up being discarded as hopeless goals only a few weeks later. The truth is, changes that you wish to bring into your life aren’t made a reality through a few champagne-induced promises made in the moment. Change comes about by little bits of improvement made every single day.
That’s why this year, I’m taking a page out of my girl Heather over at Miss Teen Chic’s book and vowing to just live in the moment. Out with the old “work out x amount of times a week”, “quit biting my nails” type resolutions. Those are things that, sure, I do want to invest more time into changing, but aren’t worthy of holding the honorable title of being my 2016 New Year’s Resolution.
This year, my goal is simple: it’s time for me to start treating MYSELF right. 2016 is going to be all about making sure that I first love myself the way that I expect others to love on me- both physically and emotionally. Whether that means forcing myself to go to bed a bit earlier, trading in Netflix time for gym time, or choosing not to go for the brooding bad boy who just looks like trouble, I am determined to make sure my day-to-day actions reflect the bigger picture. My 2016 mantra is simple, and it goes for everyone: Love yourself!!!
Cheers to the new year.
